That’s the goal –for us to be in right relationship and fellowship with the Father as Jesus is. Jesus came to give us our image back.

See Genesis 1:26-28 “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Sin entered in and we lost our image. Jesus came to give us our image back and to restore authority in the earth back to us. He also restores love back to us- love for God and love for people. Through Jesus we become sons and daughters of God. Through Jesus we have authority over sin and temptations, sickness, anger, lust, bad attitudes, our animals. We also have authority over the devil and demons, and hate –so we can love. We have power over the spirit of fear, so we can have courage and confidence. II Timothy 1:7
Jesus provided us an “Extreme Makeover.” At the cross He washed our sins away and that will change who and what you are when you receive Him and what He did. He died for our sins to give us eternal life and to give us abundant life here. It is up to us to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. It is up to us to claim our authority and to use the Name which is above every name to proclaim victory. That Name above every name is Jesus (Ephes 1:20-21 and Phil 2:9-11).
We can stay in bondage or we can go free. Walk in God’s truth and freedom-John 8:31-32 “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;(32) and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Since our image is changed we are to be like Jesus-walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us to do what He did. John 14:12 “12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”
I John 4:17 says in part “…as He (Jesus) is so are we in this world…”
When the 70 disciples who Jesus sent out returned (In Luke 10), the report they gave was in Luke 10:17 “The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.’”
And Jesus responded with this in verses 18-19 with this- (18) “And He said to them, ‘I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. (19) Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.’”
John the Baptist says in Luke 3:16 that Jesus will baptize us in the Holy Spirit and fire. The fire will burn up the non-believers like chaff in a brush fire. But the fire of God will burn up the junk and sinful attitudes in the believers and fire us up to serve Him. The fire will burn out anger, lust, bitterness, hate, bad attitudes and everything that is not pleasing to Father God.
Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit and we are to be also. Romans 8:14 “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
Matthew 28:18-19 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” When He said, “Go”, He put His authority on us. He sends us out in power to establish the kingdom of God in our world.
Remember why Jesus appeared and walked among us. I John 3: 7-8 “Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” He came to give us back our image and our authority.
One way to be conformed to the image of Christ Jesus is to renew your mind to God’s thoughts. Begin to think like God. You will do this when you read the Bible and sit under good solid Bible teaching of men of God who teach the Word. Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Mark 11:23 says we can speak to our mountains (our problems and attacks of the enemy) and they will go into the sea. Mark 11:23 “Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.” (See John 16:23-24 about asking in Jesus name)
Jesus said, “Follow Me”. He did not say come and be spectators; rather He said come follow Him so we could be like Him. We are to do what He did. He had battles, yet He walked in victory. Jesus life was pleasing to our Father, was obedient, He walked in love, He served others, and He walked in authority. We can too. Jesus bought us with a high price-His Blood. We can be in right relationship with the Father in heaven and do His will.
It all starts with receiving Jesus as Savior and making Him Lord in all areas of your life. John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,even to those who believe in His name.”
Romans 10:13. Pray this– and be serious about it: Dear God I am a sinner; I ask you to forgive my sins. I receive Jesus as my Savior right now. I call Him Lord of my life. He is the Boss, the Ruler of my life now. Jesus, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and fire. Holy Spirit, help me to live a life pleasing to my Father in Heaven. In Jesus name I pray-Amen. Now read Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:8-9, 6:23, 10:9-10, 13, Acts 1:8; 2:38, John 3:16; 3:36.
