On The Trail
We have already begun a new year with the rodeo ministry. The first weekend of October was the beginning of the 2014 PRCA Rodeo season. I went to the PRCA Rodeo in Hempstead, TX on October 3-5th. Money won there counted for 2014.
Recently God began dealing with me about teaching more on giving. There are always blessings in store for the givers.
Paul, the apostle, asked the people at Corinth to forgive him for not letting them be more involved in giving to the ministry. (In II Cor. 12:12-13) The Macedonians were generous givers and even helped churches and people in other places such as the Corinthians. And Paul wrote this promise to them. Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive. It is always nice to be able to have enough to give to the church, to ministries, or to others in need. God loves a cheerful giver. When you give you are investing in your future. He returns it back to the giver with blessings in a variety of ways-money, peace, favor, open doors, jobs, new ideas to prosper. A principle in the Bible is: give and it shall be given to you. God gave one Son and got back many sons and daughters. Jesus gave His life and provided the way for us to be with Him in heaven. The Holy Spirit gives gifts to men and power over the enemy to do the works of the kingdom of God and help us win in life. Giving is about where you’re heart is –not about money. Money is the medium we use to give, but it all about the heart. Give to God’s work, get involved in God’s business and He will get involved in yours. Find a church or ministry that is about the Father’s business of saving souls and helping those in need. One bull rider at the Hempstead TX Rodeo had been saving his money for weeks looking for good ground to plant his seed and blessed us with several hundred dollars.
I went to the PRCA Rodeo at Shreveport, LA where I held a short Cowboy Church service in the dressing room on “Preaching.” We all should be preaching. To preach means to drop down as water, to flow, drip, ooze: to cause words to flow. It also refers to dripping or flowing of water, rain, honey, myrrh, sweet wine, and words. I reminded them that what goes in you comes out of you. So we should continually be reading God’s Word and the right things that produce life will come out. The word of God and His life and power will ooze out of us and flow into others’ lives as we present Jesus, the Savor of the world. Lives will be changed for the good.
Cody Haynes invited me to go with him to be a Wrangler (riding a horse) on a TV series they are filming in Austin, TX. We were able to share with some people on the set about miracles of God healing people and of the horse Cody’s daughter, Shelbi, was riding. God will open doors to minister in all types of places. We are to be ready in season and out of season to present Jesus as Lord of all.
I also ministered at Bulverde, TX twice recently where Pastor Cody Haynes, supplies the bucking bulls at Tejas Rodeo weekly. He holds Cowboy Church in the grand stands each week. People are saved, healed, and taught the Word of God at the rodeo.
We went to about 75 performances in 2013 plus rodeo schools and Cowboy Churches. We will make disciples in 2014 On the Trail-that is the plan. Have a great 2014-honor God with your life. Give into His kingdom-invest time, talent, money, prayers. Everyone can do something. Let’s populate heaven with people.
On the Trail for Jesus and people,
Ronnie Christian
Phil4:19
P.S. I thank rodeo producers Scotty and Tonya Lovelace, Pete Carr, Stace Smith, and Bennie Beutler plus other rodeo stock contractors for welcoming me and this ministry of Christian Cowboys and Friends to freely minister and preach Jesus at their rodeos. They are a blessing to us and the kingdom of God. And God has blessed them with some super animals and good rodeos. We speak blessings on you-have a great year 2014 and on.
