The 3 R’s
The first “R” we will discuss here is for the word
“Receive” There are blessings all around us for us to have in our
lives if we will just learn to receive them. John 1:12 “But as many
as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children
of God, even to those who believe in His name,” (NAS).
Just as eternal life is yours to receive, so are His blessings.
Learn to say, “I receive blessings, I receive love, I receive joy,
I receive peace.”
The first thing Jesus said to the disciples after He arose
from the grave was “Peace be with you.” The second thing He said
was “Peace be with you, as the Father has sent Me, I also send
you.” The third thing Jesus did and said was “…He breathed on
them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit” And what does the Holy
Spirit give – love, joy, peace and more good things. The fourth
thing Jesus said was, “Peace be with you.” (see John 20: 19, 21,
22, 26 to find this)
Jesus wanted us to have peace so much He died to give
it to us. Our part is to receive it. People go to churches all over
the world every week. Many go in with no peace and they leave
with no peace. Some hear the words every week from the pastor,
“Peace be with you” and they respond, “And also with you.” Yet
they have no peace. Jesus said in Matthew 10:8 “…freely you
received, freely give.”
So I say to all who are reading this now, “Peace be with
you.” Now respond with, “I receive it!” And smile. I also say, “Joy
be with you in Jesus name!” say, “I receive it.” Heaviness and
depression must leave – love, joy, peace, restoration, encouragement,
confidence in God must remain.
I see people at places we go leave better than they came
because they simply learn to receive their healing, their peace of
mind and a restored heart and emotions. Their spirit is refreshed
when they receive what Jesus came to give.
They also receive power when they receive the Holy
Spirit. Acts 1:8 And you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses…”
So receive the Holy Spirit. Say, “Jesus I receive the Holy
Spirit – all the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Remember Jesus said, “…freely you receive, freely give.”
Go now and give blessings, give love, joy, peace, give the word of
God to people, give Jesus, give the Holy Spirit gifts.
The second “R” is “do not receive” (or we can say the
“R” is for reject). Don’t receive word curses. Do not receive bad
reports – believe for good reports. Numbers 13:32 “And they (10
spies) gave the children of Israel a bad report.” It causes fear,
doubt and unbelief and so all those 20 years and older did not go
into the promised land. However in Numbers 14 we see that
Joshua and Caleb believed and gave a good report. Those two
were the only ones over 20 years old to go into the promised land
forty years later.
Don’t receive word curses such as: You’re stupid!; you’re
a dummy; you’re ugly; you’re a loser, you are destined to fail, you
will never marry, etc. When a person says things like this. Say “I
don’t receive that. I am a child of the Most High God.”
The Third “R” is Release. Release your cares to Jesus.
In 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your cares upon Him (Jesus), because
He cares for you.” Release old hurts. Release a wounded spirit.
Release people to Jesus. He died for them – you didn’t.
Say, “Jesus, You died for them, You shed Your blood for them. I
release them to You. If you want to judge them judge them. If you
want to bless them bless them. If you want to give them mercy,
give mercy. They are Yours, not mine. I release them to You.” This
will bring about peace, relaxing, refreshing in your life as you get
the weight of them off of you when you release them to Jesus.
You may also say, “I release them to be who they are. I
release them to make that decision another day. You deal with
them I release them totally to You, Jesus.
These are the “R’s” that will help you greatly to enjoy life.
Let’s look at another “R” – Rest. Ps 37:5 “Rest in the
Lord, and wait patiently for Him;…” Chill out as we say. Relax.
Rest in the Lord as He works out the details in your and others
lives. Rest in the Lord. – Jesus has our best interest at heart.
I was at a rodeo when I gave this message to some bareback
and bull riders. I said, “another “R” is Ride.”
The rodeo was about to begin so I said “R” is for ride – so
go ride good. The Bible says we are to ride prosperously. So ride
to win in life. Ride above sin – ride into righteousness.
They are other “R’s” like right, righteousness restoration,
refreshing, redeem, repay, return to the Lord and repent.
Let’s look at “R” for Repent. When the people realized
that they had crucified Jesus who was Lord and Christ (Acts 2:26)
they asked in vs. 37 “…Brethren what shall we do?” The answer is
in Acts 2:38 “…Repent and let each of you be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
The Word also teaches us “unless you repent you will all
likewise perish.
Repent means to “change direction.” When Jesus
changes your heart, you will change your mind, you will change
your direction, you will change your lifestyle.
Repent and Receive Jesus. God I am ready and willing
to change now and turn from sin to You. I repent. I receive Jesus
as my Savior. I receive what He did for me on the cross. I receive
eternal life. I receive the Holy Spirit to help me live a life pleasing
to God. I release my sins. I receive rest, restoration, refreshing, a
good report. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Now read John 3:16, Romans 3:10; 3:23: 5:8; 6:23; 10:9-
10, 13; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 2 Peter 3:18.
Read the Bible and pray daily. Meet with other believers
often. Be a receiver – be a giver.
Receive and Release – We receive blessings – we
release blessings. “…for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor. 9:7.
As you release money, prayers and help to this and other ministries,
God sees it and will give seed to the sower. (2 Cor. 9:10).
You can be a Cowboy Partner with us as we release blessings and
present Jesus to the world as Savior, Lord and Best Friend.
Service: What about your group? Is there anything that
we can do for you? Let us know.
Isaiah 6:8 “Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall
I send and who will go for us?’ Then said I, Send me… I’ll go.’”
Peace be with you – Receive it.

On The Trail
It has been a good and busy year from the
Winter Rodeos in Texas thru the Fall.
It was good to once again be behind the bucking
chutes with Robert Winter, who I used to rodeo
with about 30 years ago, only this time we did a
short Cowboy Church together.
Robert is a pastor of Cowboy Up With God’s
Word Cowboy Church in Abilene, Tx. He and his
wife, Kim, do a good job there. They also have
arena activities at the church arena in Clyde,
Texas. I stayed over after the Abilene PRCA
Rodeo to minister with them. The people there are
always receptive to the Holy Spirit’s move, teachings
and gifts. I also ordained Robert while there
into the world of Cowboy Ministries through
Christian Cowboys and Friends (although he has
been ordained for years).
It was also good to see Lance and Candi
Crump in September Lance is a former WNFR
Bareback Rider. He now is pastor of Cross Power
Church in Cumby, Tx. They are growing and
remodeling a larger building near Commerce, Tx.
Their children are doing good at the youth rodeos.
It’s a slower pace this time of the year for me.
I’ll be at Bareback Riding School to minister and
have Cowboy Church in November in Field Store,
Tx. This has become an annual event sponsored
by Jay, Clint and Kirby Canon. Clint is going to his
first WNFR in December sitting #1 as it begins.
I will probably be at the last half of the WNFR in
Las Vegas, NV in December.
My first grand child was born September 28,
2009 weighing in at 7 lb. 7 oz. It’s a boy! Name is
Kendon Briar Christian. Father is my bareback
rider son, Brandon. Kendra, his mother, did a great
job and all are doing well. My son, Kyle, in the
Marines is serving our country in Afganistan. My
son, Jared and wife, Amy, are going to 11 nations
or more in 11 months to minister to love of Jesus.
Moldest son, Brent, just returned from a two week
mission trip to Indonesioa.
I speak blessing on all of you at this
Thanksgiving and Christmas season. What an
awesome God we have to give us a Savior and
Best Friend, Jesus Christ the Lord.
Keep praying for U.S.A. to turn to God and give
us leaders with a heart for God. Have a great 2010
and walk in the blessings of God. Expect blessings!
Be blessed on you trails.
